Adjusting brightness or contrast

The Brightness/Contrast filter modifies the contrast or the brightness of all pixels in an image. Using this command affects the highlights, shadows, and midtones of an image.

The Brightness/Contrast filter is for images that do not need substantial correction. For more advanced tonal correction procedures, see Adjusting the tonal range with Levels and Adjusting the tonal range using Curves.
